Anne McKeon set up Gum Dearg Garden Design, Barna, Co. Galway in January 1989. Gum Dearg is in the main a garden design and consultancy business dealing with private garden owners (dealing with both large and small gardens), builders, architects, government bodies and so in. In short anybody needing gardening advice is a potential client for Anne.
Gum Dearg Teoranta also has one other employee Veronica who works in the garden design office.
Gardening and leisure time activities have grown in popularity in recent years therefore the demand for gardening classes and instruction in such activities has also greatly increased. With this in mind Gum Dearg runs gardening classes at various times of the year.
What better (and fun) way to learn about gardening than from within a garden. Our 1.5 acre gardens are ideally situated just 3 miles from Galway City and 3 miles from Barna Village. This scenic and peaceful setting will bring out the 'budding' gardener in you.
Ours are social gardening classes where numbers are small and personal attention is guaranteed. There is no need to be shy.
